About me

I’m Michael Keane, local resident and currently chair of the Oval Partnership -a not-for-profit organisation working since 2001 to improve the lives of all those who live and work in the Kennington/Oval/Vauxhall area.  Amongst other things, we helped set up the Oval Farmers Market.

This is a personal blog with an emphasis on things happening in and around the Kennington Oval Vauxhall Area including the market.  The views expressed here are my own but I do try to reflect the views of the local community and businesses.

My interests include photography, local events, history and business…and social media it would seems.  You can also follow me on twitter @KeaneMJ

Hello – I’ve just started working in Lambeth as a Business Connector trying to establish sustainable links between local communities and big businesses. Would love to have a chat with you in the next week or so to get your spin on things and to help me identify some of the main challenges etc. All the best, Will

We like big and small businesses as sometimes you can’t tell which is going to be which (:-). As you might know te neighbourhood has been the home to many small businesses which went on to do great things (Vauxhall Motors, Sharwoods, Sarsons Vinegar, Christies International Media, Royal Doulton etc.). I will write.

    Hi Michael,

I understand you have a keen interest in planned and existing developments in and around Oval. I am currently working with Higgins Homes and Pinnacle Regeneration Group on the regeneration of Myatts Field North estate and a brand new development which will provide 800 new homes in Oval.

We would like to offer you exclusive information about the launch of this development and future plans for this area, for use on The Oval blog. It would be great to speak to you directly via email or over the phone regarding an exclusive invitation to the site with all those involved on the project.

Please do drop me an email to discuss this opportunity further

    Many thanks

Thanks for showing interest. I’ve added a subscribe section but I might need some help getting it to work properly. Give me a week or so
