Local opportunities

Are you interested in investing locally? This section contains a small selection of local commerical properties which appear to be either unused or under used at the moment. The intention is to raise awareness of these ‘opportunities’ in the hope that it will attract investment to the area more quickly than might otherwise be the case. It also includes the major local business park/centres which also have units to let.

Commercial properties and land which remain unused for a long period damage the local econonomy and have a detrimental effect on the local commuity.  Land banking in the Vauxhall/Nine Elms and other areas have contributed to the problem.  Many of the sites (Vauxhall Island, Offley Works, New Covent Garden etc.) now have well developed plans and are well known to the local community.  Here are some of the less well known commercial properties that appear to have been unused/under used for some time.

130-138 Kennington Lane
This site is at the junction of Kennington Lane and Kennington Park Road a few minutes walk from Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre. The site is just opposite the famous French restaurant ‘Lobster Pot’ and the Toulouse Lautrec Bar. There is a planning application for this site which includes an A1 retail space.

 Railway Arches at Vauxhall
Many of the prime railway arches have already been let with many taken up by clubs but there are still some available to let. The particular one shown here is at the back of the station between a par time entrance to the station and the pedestrian tunnel. Another arch to the right of this pedestrian tunnel is expected to become a Nandos Chicken outlet.
